The Innovationlab Hybrid Services in Logistics is an interdisciplinary research project in which technological innovations are developed for a social networked industry. One focus is on human-technology interaction. The design of innovations for hybrid services is ensured by so-called showcases in five areas: Trade, production logistics, transport, maintenance and virtual training.
The Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF) is funding the project with a total of ten million euros over a period of three years. Recently the contract was extended until December 2020 with an extra fund of two million euros. On the one hand, the Innovationlab Hybrid Services in Logistics is intended to strengthen the digital pioneering role of the Dortmund location with regard to services and logistics and, on the other hand, to accelerate the acceptance and introduction of new technical solutions in the industry 4.0 environment. Project partners of the Innovationlab Hybrid Services in Logistics are the Fraunhofer Institute for Material Flow and Logistics IML in Dortmund, the Fraunhofer Institute for Design Technology Mechatronics IEM in Paderborn and TU Dortmund University with the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering and the research area Industrial and Labour Research.
