Mobility of the future
Today, economy and society are more than ever in the need for reliable solutions for logistics and mobility. Diverging requirements and challenges are radically changing the mobility of the future. Trends like urbanisation, climate change and demographic change are drivers for technological, ecological and social change. Companies, municipalities and transport providers have to think and conceptualise mobility in a new way. As industry 4.0, mobility 4.0 signalises the path to multimodal and intelligent mobility. The digitalisation and connection of all passengers and stakeholders as well as new transport options and technologies have the potential to create demand-oriented and flexible mobility solutions.
Our research
Our mobility department at the Centre of Logistics and Mobility, located in the House of Logistics and Mobility (HOLM) at Frankfurt Airport, offers an interdisciplinary research interface for the innovative mobility of the future.
Our work contains for example, the development of innovative mobility concepts for passenger and freight transport, mobility concepts in the context of demographic change, or the combination of classic public transport offers with new mobility solutions. Thereby, mobility in rural areas is just as important as urban mobility. The future of mobility is connected.
As an application-oriented research institute, we develop approaches, methods and concepts to meet the challenges. For this purpose, we work together with our industry partners on practical solutions. We involve the relevant stakeholders at the public and political level in our research work. With excellent and application-oriented research, we contribute to the future of mobility.
