Information system and technology selection

Our offer

Find a matching solution for your company's needs with our IT system selection - individual and provider-independent. We guide you through the entire selection process: from the requirements and process analysis to a detailed market analysis and the creation of specifications. With our expertise, we support you in the tendering process, evaluate it and offer a well-founded recommendation for placing the order. We also focus on optimising the integration of the system solution into your operational processes during implementation.

Fraunhofer IML has broad expertise in the design and integration of optimising APS, PPS and MES systems for planning and controlling production and offers the following support in this context.

Phase 1 (Analysis) includes requirements & process analysis, market & competition analysis and preparation of specifications. Phase 2 (Selection) includes call for tenders, evaluation analysis and award recommendation. Phase 3 (Implementation) includes detailed concept development, implementation and post go-live support.

Our approach

  • Analysis: Based on a detailed requirements and process analysis, we work together with the process owners and future users to develop the conceptual foundations and record the processes to be supported and the requirements for an assistance system.
  • Selection: Our industry knowledge in the field of APS, PPS and MES solutions enables us to preselect suitable providers. The business cases developed by us and customised to your requirements serve as an essential decision-making aid for the subsequent system users in the selection process. The project phase also includes the moderation and technical support of the selection process.
  • Implementation: As part of the realisation support, we provide conceptual support during the creation of the specifications, prepare the acceptance process and take over the project management for you.
The diagram shows the three phases of system selection in detail. The contents, system decisions and technology selection of each phase are specified.

Your benefit

With the involvement of the Fraunhofer IML in a project for the selection and introduction of an APS, PPS or MES system, you receive transparent and lean end-to-end process flows in the areas of production planning, control, materials management, quality assurance, etc. The focus is on the adaptability and future viability of the system. The focus here is on the adaptability and future viability of the system. By defining standardised interfaces, media disruptions are eliminated as far as possible.

During the project, you will not only receive a customised catalogue of requirements that has been developed together with the future users, but also a neutral overview of the provider market and professional, goal-oriented project management.
